Exploring the Hidden Ecosystem of Rock Pools

As the tide draws back along the shores, it unveils a fascinating world of rock pools. What at first seems like a barren landscape of mud and seaweed actually forms a distinctive habitat. Twice daily, sand, gullies, reefs, and rock pools reveal a variety of marine life. These isolated pools offer a glimpse into the survival challenges that these creatures face. Each pool serves as a miniature ecosystem, housing crabs, shrimp, and other amazing creatures.
